I believe my ethnic background plays the biggest role in shaping my creative process. I was born into the service industry and raised in a hotel in Southwestern Puerto Rico, with our family’s butcher shop (est. 1943) still in operation. Food and service were always part of my life. Growing up in the Caribbean's most modern island, I experienced a rich mix of cuisines Spanish, Chinese, Italian, and American. My diverse menu is a tribute to Puerto Rico’s multicultural heritage.

After losing my job in Miami’s culinary scene, an unexpected opportunity let me become my own Chef cooking food I believed in. Opening Chefs on the Run wasn’t easy—we faced slow seasons, a fire, and workforce challenges. But with passion and persistence, we grew. Our Caribbean-American gastro pub blends tradition with bold flavors. The biggest lessons? Prioritize family, cook from the heart, and inspire the next generation not just to eat, but to cook.

Burger Beast – Chefs On The Run Is Killin.

After hearing the buzz about Chef Jodrick’s burgers, I finally made the trip to Chefs on the Run in Homestead. Cozy, colorful, and packed with flavor, it didn’t disappoint. We started with buttery habanero chicken and pinchos—both on point. But the real star? The Chef La Burger hot pastrami, grilled onions, provolone, and creole mustard on a challah roll. One bite, and boom perfection. Pro tip: Can’t choose between the Tripleta and Chef La? Get both. Thank me later.
